The Association of Educational Assessment in Africa - AEAA Conference 2009 

Cameroon is fondly referred to as “Africa in Miniature”. It is situated between West and Central Africa overlooking the Gulf of Guinea. Cameroon had its independence since 1st January 1960. The neighboring countries are the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the West, Republic of Chad to the North, Republics of Congo, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea to the South and Central Africa to the East. Cameroon has two official languages, English and French. There are over 250 national languages. The climate is varied, that is, tropical in the coastal region, and temperate in the savanna grass field areas. Temperatures range between 22° - 35° in the dry season and 18° - 25° in the rainy season. The currency is Francs CFA.  There are 3 international airports:

  • Nsimalen International Airport, Yaounde.

  • Douala International Airport

  • Garoua International Airport

The 2009 AEAA annual conference participants should use the Nsimalen  International Airport.

 

Conference Venue

The 2009 AEAA Conference will be held at the Yaounde Conference Centre, situated on one of the seven hills of the Capital city, about 25 minutes drive from the Nsimalen International Airport.
